Indaver, a sustainable waste management company who are currently constructing an Energy-from-Waste facility in Rivenhall, Essex, have launched their Indaver International Graduate Programme (IIGP) in the UK.
This two-year intensive learning path includes rotations across different departments and locations, providing hands-on experience and personal growth. Participants will work on impactful projects and gain exposure to various aspects of our operations.
Read about Luke, a current IIGP member
After completing his degree in Civil, Structural, and Environmental Engineering, Luke Schumm was unsure of the next step in his career. He knew he wanted to gain diverse experiences and work in various locations, and the Indaver International Graduate Programme (IIGP) offered exactly that opportunity.
"Although my primary responsibility is with the Design Engineering team, I support other departments such as Safety, Health and Environment, as well as Engineering and Operations," Luke explains.
These rotations give him the broad perspective he was looking for, helping him understand the importance of interdisciplinary collaboration. Working on the Roche project in Co. Clare, Ireland, has shown him how critical it is for departments to consult and work together.
Luke is constantly learning, not only within his field but also in areas like leadership and process improvement.
"Thanks to the leadership training and a Yellow Belt project, I’m developing both personally and professionally. You’re given a lot of responsibility, and I don’t feel like 'just a young graduate.' I can see that I am contributing to the project, which is fantastic."
